On Saturday my blog turned one year old. I'm thinking of a few ways to celebrate it:
-Write one of those 100 things about me memes
-Publish a couple of essays that haven't been published anywhere
-Take roll
I'll start with the last--Who reads my blog? Are you a new visitor or a regular? Figuratively raise your hand by leaving a comment. Insincere, empty, ironic, any comment will do, as long as it's from a real person. You could just say "present." Thank you kindly, dear readers.

Happy blogversary, Lauren! I'm so glad I discovered Dream Kitchen via Scrivener...
I'm a fairly recent regular reader. Can't remember how I find you, though. Congratulations on one year.
Hi Lauren...I read your blog regularly , although I've not left a comment before now. I think I found you via Scrivener, and have been thinking for the past few posts I really ought to write a comment. And now I have.
Happy blog anniversary. I'm glad you're writing.
I check your blog every few days to see if there's anything new, and I always feel like I've just gotten an unexpected present when there is. You're a wonderful writer, but then you have an unfair advantage over the rest of us carpal-tunnelled wretches. You have a PhD in English, so you can snip off any dangling participles that this high-school trained writer wouldn't spot. And you have great material in two precocious little quote machines. So, I'm jealous, but not so envious that I won't wish you a happy anniversary.
I just found you a couple of weeks ago, but you can count me in.
If I could ever get that damn word verification right, you'd know I was present, of course.
I've been reading you for awhile ....
Oh, and happy blog anniversary!
Happy Birthday Dream Kitchen! I've been reading you ever since I found your comment on the blog run by a couple discussed in a Caitlin Flanagan essay in the New Yorker. I think you've got a fabulous little blog here, and I look forward to another year.
Happy Anniversary!
I'm a brand new reader... also named Lauren, who stumbled upon your site from a comment you left on It' Ain't All Pizzas and Cream. I've bookmarked ya. I'll be back!
I just discovered your weblog tonight. I followed a link in a comment you left at Confessions of a Community College Dean
